About OISE Bristol

OISE Bristol English language school was established in 1986 and has since then helped thousands of motivated individuals to achieve their life goals using English.

In addition to Business English for professionals, OISE Bristol offers tuition in exam preparation and other specialist areas including Aviation English, Legal English, Nursing and Engineering. OISE Bristol is also a recognised centre for the TOLES (Legal English Exam) and BULATS (Business English) exam.


Learning space

In the heart of the popular harbourside area, OISE Bristol English language school is located in a charming stone wine warehouse dating from the early 19th century, reflecting the rich maritime history of the city.
OISE Bristol's interior is designed with students in mind. There are many opportunities to give presentations in a supportive and friendly atmosphere, organise projects cooperatively, socialise, and learn the skills necessary to live and work in an international environment. Teachers and administrative staff work together to make the experience rewarding and successful. OISE Bristol helps with individual goals and guides students through progress with exam preparation, job and university applications, report writing and specific needs.


English Tuition Programmes

The Tutorial
The Tutorial™ is an effective method of language tuition based on the one-to-one format. This allows the course programme to be tailored to the individual’s needs and specialised areas, allowing for making fast progress and achieving specific goals in a short period of time. Students can choose between 3, 4, 5 and 6, 60 minute lessons a day with the Tutorial Programme, or combine afternoon tutorials with morning group classes as part of the Bristol Octorial Combination Programme

The Octorial

The Octorial™ Programme is a full time course of 30 hours per week, developed with over 40 years of language coaching experience to help the student find an effective path towards a higher English level. This full time course also includes a choice of either 5 or 7.5 hours of one-to-one Tutorials™ in the afternoons. Exam preparation
Exam preparation is important to many of our students. The intensive training courses we offer include preparation for internationally recognised exams such as IELTS, Cambridge exams, BULATS, GMAT, TOEIC, ICAO and TOLES


Cultural programme

OISE Bristol English language school organises three social activities per week to give students a culturally enriching experience and the chance to enjoy themselves in an international setting.
Each activity is free, voluntary and supervised by an OISE staff member, who is responsible for students’ levels of participation and safety.

Popular activities at OISE Bristol include local museum and gallery visits, walking tours, boat trips, indoor and outdoor sports, international lunches and trips to places of interest in the south west (Salisbury, Bath, Glastonbury, Cardiff). Accommodation near OISE Bristol

Homestay

Half-board homestay accommodation, conveniently located for buses to Bristol City Centre, is available all year round. Living in a homestay is a good way to improve your English, experience British life and develop great friendships. Hosts are selected for their welcoming attitude and homes, which provide students a safe and comfortable place to relax and study.

Residence

The option of residential accommodation is available in July and August, with a supplementary fee. This consists of centrally located, modern, 5 and 6 bedroom flats, with shared living areas, kitchens and en-suite bathrooms.

Hotels & Guest Houses

OISE Bristol staff are also able to advise on local hotels and other private self-catering options and make a reservation for the student’s.

Travel and location

Bristol is well connected to key destinations within the UK, across Europe and around the world via good public and commercial transport links. Central London can be reached in less than two hours by train. For more information about travel to Bristol please click here.
